Japan Media Arts Festival  

Please make sure to read the following, before you register/participate in an event.

For some events advance-booking is required. These events are marked with */[Advance-booking]. The deadline for advance-bookings is 17:00 of the day prior to the event. Bookings are accepted on a first-come first served basis. Advance-booking will finish, when an event has reached capacity. Contents of events might be subject to change or cancellation. Pre-school children have to be accompanied.

Film screenings at TOHO CINEMAS Shinjuku and Totto Culture Center, Live performances, Talks, Symposia, Workshops

Booking methods

1. Booking by Email

Please send a Email specifying:
-Date and time of the event
-Event title
-Your name
-Your phone number OR fax number OR e-mail-address
to the Japan Media Arts Festival Secretariat

2. Booking at the Exhibition Space

Bookings are also accepted at the reception at the NTT InterCommunication Center [ICC]
For advance booking, please note the following:
For each event, only one booking per person is accepted.
Booking for multiple events is possible. Please note, that it is not possible to make bookings for events that take place at the same time.
Please inform the Japan Media Arts Festival by e-mail or fax, in case that you want to cancel your participation in events.

Admission to events

Doors open 15 minutes prior to the event. Please show a printout of the confirmation Email, you received from the Japan Media Arts Festival Secretariat. Please come to the venue five minutes prior to the event at latest. Please note, that for some events it is not possible, to enter after the event has started (except live performances). Events require advance booking, seating is free. Please note, that admission is not possible, after the event has started (except live performances).

Admission on the day of the event (events that do require advance booking)

1. Admission to events that do not have reached capacity.

Admission tickets will be distributed 60 minutes prior to the event.
The number of admission tickets varies due to the number of tickets left from the advance booking.

2.Admission for events that have reached capacity.

Standby tickets will be distributed 30 minutes prior to the event.
Five minutes prior to the event, the number of cancelled tickets will be confirmed. The same number of standby ticket holders get admission to the event.
In case there was no cancellation, admission to the event is not possible.
